One More Mothers' Day Card

One More Mothers' Day Card

Jenny has been busy creating another tutorial for you all.

This card is a great way to use up scraps but Jenny has used papers from the beautiful Maja Designs collection - Enjoying Outdoors.

White card-stock has been used as the base.

Cut a second piece slightly smaller than the front of the card. Spray with Fireworks Desert Sand.

Cut a third piece of white card-stock and spray with Fireworks Desert Sand and let dry, or use a heat gun if you're impatient ;-) When dry lay down the Dylusions Diamond in the Rough stencil and apply Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Sea Spray and let dry.

Stamp the flower image (this one is Avery Elle Magnolia) on your favourite colouring surface. Jenny used the pointed tips of the VersaMagic ink pads to apply different colours to different areas of the stamp before she stamped - no black lines!

Colour the stamped image with your favourite medium. Jenny used a brush and water with Distress Inks. Not having the right pink in inks, Jenny dabbed a Distress Inkpad onto her heat-mat and used that as a palette.

Once the image is dry, fussy cut around it.

Stamp the greeting with VersaMagic Midnight Black onto a small piece of card-stock which has been sprayed with Fireworks Desert Sand. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Cut strips from the Enjoying Outdoors papers. Jenny used Scent of Lavender, Picking Flowers, Autumn Hues, Flourishing, and Beautiful Trees. Ink the edges with complementary (yes, that is spelt correctly!) ink. Jenny used Memento Olive Grove, Elderberry, Rich Cocoa, and Sweet Plum.

Ink around the edges of all the card-stock pieces and you're ready to assemble.

Place the second piece of card-stock onto the front of the card.

Attach the paper strips vertically.

Attach the stencilled card-stock horizontally at the bottom.

Adhere ribbons next, then the flower image.

Pop the sentiment stamp up with some foam pads and you're finished!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and don't forget, you can change the sentiment, papers and colours to suit any occasion.
